Guidelines and Deadlines

Before starting the application, please review the following guidelines related to the Tent Challenge application.

Please note that Tent awards the majority of its grants to organizations that have been identified by Tent staff.

You will NOT be able to make edits to your application after submission.

1. What will the Tent Challenge fund?

The Tent Challenge will fund a total of up to 20 projects that provide innovative solutions for social integration of refugees into host communities or address removing barriers to employment or employing refugees.  Funding is currently set for $50,000 per grant.

Priority will be given to projects in Germany, Italy, Jordan, and Sweden, but will not automatically exclude projects in other countries.

2. Who may apply for a Tent Challenge grant?

Certified non-profit organizations are preferred and verification of non-profit status will be required. Companies that have developed innovations that improve the livelihood of refugees and IDPs and need assistance bringing projects to scale will be considered.

3. What will the Tent Challenge not fund?

The Tent Challenge will not provide funds for scholarships or tuition expenses, grants to individuals, business assistance, fundraising drives, honorary functions, institutional benefits, or health care.

4. What happens after my initial application is submitted?

We will begin to review your proposal shortly after submission. After the initial review, we will reach out to organizations for further information, if needed. The deadline for applications is July 1, 2017.

We will inform all applicants of a decision on September 1, 2017.

5. What if I have further questions?
