Tailoring Products

Safaricom is developing a range of products and services to support refugees in Kenya. This includes an e-voucher product called Bamba Chakula that allows refugees to purchase food and other key items in partnership with the World Food Programme, which provides refugees with a sense of dignity and has helped to grow the local economy. In addition, Safaricom has worked with Vodafone, UNHCR, and Huawei to provide digital learning classrooms in refugee camps through the Instant Network Schools. Safaricom is exploring additional ways to help refugees, including through direct cash transfers.
