Hiring & Training

Woolworths Group recognizes the value that diversity brings to its business. The company is hiring refugees in Australia from over 16 different countries and cultural backgrounds, including from Syria, the Democratic Republic of Congo, Afghanistan, Bhutan and Iraq. Since 2018, Woolworths Group has partnered with Community Corporate, a social enterprise that helps connect job seekers with socially responsible employers, on a program to hire refugees and help them settle in their new communities. To date, the company has hired over 150 refugees across the country at supermarket brands Woolworths and Woolworths Metro, as well as in customer fulfillment centers. 60 of these refugee hires have been in FY2020 alone. Woolworths Group plans to build on the success of this employment program and will continue to expand it in new locations across Australia.
