Commitments made at the U.S. Business Summit on Refugees

September 2022

  • Accenture committed to hiring 200 refugees over three years in the United States. To date in 2022, Accenture has hired over 30 refugees in the U.S.
  • Aimbridge committed to hiring 100 refugees over three years in the United States. In addition, Aimbridge will offer internships to 10 refugees in the U.S. over three years.  
  • Albea committed to hiring 50 refugees over three years in the United States. In addition, Albea will offer internships to 20 refugees in the U.S. over three years. 
  • Amazon committed to hiring at least 5,000 refugees over three years in the United States. Amazon will support the integration of its refugee and humanitarian-based immigrant employees through its Welcome Door program, which offers access to several benefits for these employees, including reimbursement for certain government filing fees, a Citizenship Assistance Portal providing end-to-end support for U.S. citizenship applications for eligible employees, and free legal resources to navigate immigration-related questions. Amazon will also provide its refugee employees with access to skills-training resources including pre-paid college tuition and ESL support through its Career Choice program. This commitment builds on Amazon’s efforts to hire hundreds of refugees in the U.S. to date. 
  • Amcor committed to hiring 300 refugees over three years in the United States. To address workforce barriers for refugees, Amcor will provide transportation to and from work and ESL classes to recently hired refugees. 
  • Atento committed to hiring 50 refugees over three years in the United States. 
  • Blackstone committed to creating employment opportunities for 2,000 refugees globally, including 1,500 refugees in the United States, over three years. Blackstone will work with its portfolio companies, third-party operators, and real estate properties to hire refugees, and provide a range of hands-on support, including sharing best practices on refugee integration, and helping to identify refugee talent through local refugee hiring fairs. This commitment builds on Blackstone’s efforts to support its portfolio companies as they have hired nearly 500 refugees globally, including nearly 400 in the United States.
  • C&S Wholesale Grocers committed to hiring 100 refugees over three years in the United States. 
  • Cargill committed to hiring 1,000 refugees over three years in the United States. Cargill will partner with resettlement organizations to help integrate its refugee employees, including by offering them language training, transportation assistance to get to and from work, and assistance with finding affordable housing. 
  • Carrols committed to hiring 50 refugees in full-time roles and 250 refugees in part-time roles over three years in the United States. Carrols will provide technical and leadership development to its refugee employees to help with career advancement. 
  • Chobani committed to hiring 200 refugees in full-time or part-time roles over three years in the United States.
  • Coursera committed to providing training resources for 15,000 refugees globally, including 7,500 refugees in the United States,  over three years. To do so, Coursera will partner with refugee-focused nonprofits to offer refugees a catalog of content and credentials, including professional certification programs and specializations. This commitment builds on Coursera for Refugees, a part of Coursera’s social impact program, which has served over 150,000 learners, and includes more than 5,000 courses ranging from topics like Business, Data Science, IT, Computer Science, Mental Health, Language Learning, and Personal Development. 
  • Deloitte committed to hiring 250 refugees and training 250 refugees over three years in the United States. 
  • gategroup committed to hiring 1,000 refugees over three years in the United States. This commitment builds on gategroup’s success hiring more than 300 refugees in the United States to date. 
  • Great Lakes Cheese committed to hiring 50 refugees over three years in the United States. 
  • Hilton committed to hiring 1,500 refugees over three years in the United States. Hilton’s hotel properties will provide its refugee employees with tailored resources and support, such as ESL assistance. This commitment builds on Hilton’s efforts to hire hundreds of refugees in the U.S. to date. 
  • Hyatt committed to hiring 500 refugees into full-time or part-time roles over three years in the United States and globally. This commitment builds on Hyatt’s efforts hiring over 100 refugees in the United States to date.
  • IHG committed to hiring 100 refugees over three years in the United States. IHG will provide its refugee resettlement partner organizations with access to its own online learning platform, IHG Skills Academy, a free resource for professional development and training for refugees.
  • Ipsos committed to providing training resources for 100 refugees over three years in the United States. 
  • ISS committed to hiring 1,000 refugees over three years in the United States. 
  • La Colombe committed to hiring 100 refugees over three years in the United States. To support its refugee hiring program, La Colombe will provide language training and transportation support to all refugee employees. 
  • LinkedIn committed to providing training and/or tailored employment resources to 18,000 refugees globally over three years, including to approximately 6,000 refugees in the United States. LinkedIn will make it easier for refugees to prepare for and find employment by: distributing 2,000 LinkedIn Premium licenses to refugees through nonprofit partners; facilitating one-on-one coaching sessions to 1,000 refugees to help them optimize their LinkedIn profiles and job application materials; and helping 15,000 refugees find jobs on LinkedIn through a refugee-focused jobs portal and dedicated resources which will be translated into several key languages.
  • ManpowerGroup committed to connecting 3,000 refugees to employment opportunities with its clients in the United States over three years. ManpowerGroup will provide these refugees with upskilling and training courses to prepare them for the American job market, as well as to 1:1 coaching that includes tailored professional guidance. ManpowerGroup will hire recruiters with language skills of the predominant refugee communities to be able to support them in their career search.
  • Marriott International committed to hiring 1,500 refugees over three years in the United States. Marriott is also committed to supporting refugees in their career journey by creating a culture of inclusion. Examples have included hotels providing refugee employees with resources and tailored support, such as on-site translators, prayer rooms, and assistance with navigating public transportation.
  • Oneida Nation Enterprises committed to a goal of hiring 300 refugees for full-time roles and 60 refugees for part-time roles over three years in the United States. As part of this effort, Oneida will host job fairs with refugee-focused organizations, and develop cross-cultural onboarding and training materials. Oneida will also provide on-site translation support, and will offer affordable employee housing and free transportation to help refugee employees get to and from work.
  • PepsiCo committed to hiring 500 refugees over three years in the United States. 
  • Pfizer committed to hiring 500 refugees over three years in the United States. Through its Refugee Leadership Initiative, Pfizer will provide coaching and support to these refugee employees and offer resources and tools to support their integration into the US workforce. This builds on Pfizer’s 2021 goal to hire 100 refugees and mentor an additional 150 refugees by the end of 2022.  
  • Red Roof committed to hiring 100 refugees over three years in the United States. Red Roof Hotels is supporting the career development of their refugee employees by offering access to debt-free General Educational Development and other certification programs. 
  • Sodexo committed to hiring 180 refugees in full-time roles and 20 refugees in part-time roles over three years in the United States. 
  • The Body Shop committed to hiring 200 refugees in part time roles over three years in the United States. The Body Shop will incorporate its refugee hiring efforts into its broader Open Hiring program, which aims to remove barriers to employment during the application process. 
  • Tyson Foods committed to hiring 2,500 refugees over three years in the United States. Tyson Foods will provide its refugee employees with on-site classes through its Upward Academy and Upward Pathways Programs, including professional skills training, English as a Second Language courses, citizenship and legal assistance, General Educational Development certification, digital literacy classes, and financial literacy training. The company is also addressing transportation issues, access to healthcare, and child care for its employees. This commitment builds on Tyson Foods’ efforts to hire hundreds of refugees, providing them with economic opportunity and social support to integrate into the  company and their communities.
  • As a group, Fedex, Gap Inc., Genpact, Graham Packaging, Henry Schein, Kimball Midwest, Mastercorp, Panda Express, Silgan Dispensing, Spencer’s, Sumitomo Electric, The Kellogg Company, Transdev, and US Xpress made a collective commitment to hire 2,275 refugees in the United States over three years.
