Herman Nijns joined Randstad in Belgium at the end of 1988, first as a consultant, one year later as a branch manager. In 1993 Herman became Regional Manager and six years later, in 1999 he was appointed Operational Director and became responsible for all specialized staffing divisions such as Call Force, Medical, Transport, Construction, Finance & Accounting and Randstad Professionals formerly known as Yacht. In 2005 Herman became Managing Director for Belgium and Luxembourg and after the acquisition of Vedior, CEO for Randstad Group Belux in 2008. In 2021 he took up additional responsibility for Randstad in Denmark, Sweden and Norway.
In March 2023 Herman was appointed as the Chief Executive for Southern Europe & Latin America at Randstad. As from April 2025 Herman Nijns is Chief Executive International Markets, responsible for Argentina, Brazil, Chile, Uruguay, UK & Ireland, Portugal, Belgium & Luxembourg, Sweden, Denmark, Norway, Poland, Hungary, Czechia, Romania.
Additionally, Herman is also an active member of the Board of VBO-FEB, VOKA, Federgon, VKW. Herman was for 3 years the European president of the World Employment Confederation till the end of 2023.
