J. Ofori Agboka is the Vice President of People eXperience and Technology (PXT) for Global Operations at Amazon. He is responsible for the worldwide HR practices for Fulfillment, Transportation, Delivery, Customer Service, Employee Relations (ER), and Workplace Health & Safety; leading a team of 8000 + HR, HR Tech and ER professionals that supports the employment life cycle of over 700K Amazonians globally. He joined Amazon in April of 2020.
Prior to Amazon, Ofori gained nearly 24 years of Human Resources, Labor Relations, Corporate and Operations experience, in the USA, Asia and Europe at General Motors (GM). He began his career in GM in 1996 as an intern, progressing to multiple leadership and executive roles, supporting teams globally.
He has a bachelor’s degree in Psychology from Louisiana State University and completed the Transformational Leadership Program from the Stanford University Graduate School of Business.
Ofori was recognized by the NCAA for his life “After the Game”, awarded “2016 Rising Star” by Automotive News, 2018 Michigan Chronicle – “Man of Excellence”; and “2018 Most Influential Blacks in Corporate America” by SAVOY Magazine. Ofori serves on the Louisiana State University Alumni Board of Directors and the Board of Directors of Big Brothers Big Sisters – Seattle, Washington.
