General Assembly is piloting an initiative to train refugees in the United Kingdom through its Software Engineering Immersive Program, which provides coding and software development training to help participants make a career transition. After completing the training program, General Assembly helps the refugee participants find jobs in the technology sector through the support of a dedicated career coach. General Assembly is exploring opportunities to expand this refugee training program to the United States and Canada.

General Assembly is part of the Tent Coalition for Refugees in the U.S., exploring hiring and training opportunities for refugees across the country.
