Hiring & Training
In 2019, Philips committed to hiring 100 refugees over five years.
After successfully hiring 75 refugees across its operations, in 2022 Philips expanded its commitment, pledging to hire an additional 75 refugees in the Netherlands, Germany, Turkey, Poland, Costa Rica, and Panama. By 2025, Philips will have hired 150 refugees. Philips will also continue offering its career workshops and soft-skills training programs for refugees.
Philips is part of the Tent U.S. and Tent UK, exploring opportunities to help refugees enter the labor market in these two countries, including through employment or job preparation.
Mentorship
In 2023, Philips committed to mentoring 50 refugee women over three years in cities across the United States, including Nashville, Alpharetta, and Cambridge.
In 2023, Philips committed to mentoring 50 Hispanic refugees over three years in Atlanta, Nashville, and Cambridge.
In 2022, Philips committed to mentoring 50 refugee women in Germany, the Netherlands, and the United Kingdom over three years.
Other
Previously, the Philips Foundation committed to partnering with Hospitainer to support a 50-bed field hospital, primary care and a mother and childcare department in the Al-Hol refugee camp in Syria, helping to provide medical equipment to more than 70 thousand people in desperate need. The Philips Foundation believes in a better health outcome for all and is determined to make an impact on refugees’ access to quality healthcare.
