As part of the company’s commitment to diversity and inclusion, the bank encourages refugees to explore hiring and mentorship opportunities across its Canadian operations, and organizes networking opportunities for refugees to meet with leaders in the company.

CIBC is part of Tent U.S., exploring opportunities to help refugees enter the labor market, including through employment or job preparation.

Mentorship

In 2020, CIBC committed to mentoring 50 LGBTQ refugees in Halifax, Ottawa, Toronto and Vancouver over three years.

In 2023, CIBC committed to mentoring 50 refugee women over three years in cities across the United States, including Atlanta, Boston, Chicago, and New York City.
