In 2022, Coursera committed to providing training resources for 15,000 refugees globally, including 7,500 refugees in the United States, over three years. To do so, Coursera will partner with refugee-focused nonprofits to offer refugees a catalog of content and credentials, including professional certification programs and specializations. This commitment builds on Coursera for Refugees, a part of Coursera’s social impact program, which has served over 150,000 learners, and includes more than 5,000 courses ranging from topics like Business, Data Science, IT, Computer Science, Mental Health, Language Learning, and Personal Development.

Coursera is part of Tent U.S., exploring opportunities to help refugees enter the labor market, including through employment or job preparation.

Tailoring Products

In 2016, Coursera launched Coursera for Refugees in conjunction with the United States Department of State to help refugees access high-quality education that supports personal development, career advancement, and economic opportunity through Coursera’s catalog of content and credentials offered by world-class universities and companies. Coursera for Refugees has grown to serve more than 30 nonprofit organizations and has helped over 130,000 refugees globally.
