Hiring & Training

In 2023, ISS committed to hire 1,000 refugees, including Ukrainian refugee women, over three years across its European operations. ISS will offer training, upskilling, and development opportunities in the facilities management industry to its refugee employees across all countries. 

This commitment builds on ISS’s efforts to hire at least 550 refugees in Europe between March 2022 and June 2023.

In 2022, ISS committed to hiring 1,000 refugees over three years in the United States.

ISS is part of Tent U.S., Tent Canada, Tent EspañaTent México, and Tent UK, exploring opportunities to help refugees enter the labor market in these five countries, including through employment or job preparation.

ISS Spain has hired over 130 refugees and is working with several Spanish NGOs to help refugees integrate in their new communities.

ISS Denmark is offering workshops to refugee women with the aim of finding job opportunities within ISS. ISS Denmark also offers apprenticeships to refugees.

In collaboration with the Refugee Talent Hub, ISS Netherlands has organized information sessions about job opportunities at the company for refugees with a hospitality background.

Mentorship

In 2021, ISS committed to mentoring 50 refugee women in France, the Netherlands, and Spain over three years.

In 2023, ISS committed to mentoring 50 Afghan refugees over three years in Chicago, Minneapolis and the Los Angeles and San Francisco Bay areas.

In 2023, ISS committed to mentoring 50 refugee women over three years in cities across the United States, including Chicago, Los Angeles, Minneapolis, and San Francisco.

In 2023, ISS committed to mentoring 50 Hispanic refugees over three years in Chicago, Minneapolis, Los Angeles, and the Bay Area.
