The Novo Nordisk Foundation is supporting organizations that improve opportunities for young refugees and their host communities. Specifically, the Novo Nordisk Foundation is funding projects that provide refugees with education, psychosocial support, technical and vocational skills development  in Jordan, Lebanon, and Syria. For example, with support from the Novo Nordisk Foundation, the Danish Refugee Council is providing opportunities to 25,000 Syrians and Jordanians to become socially and economically empowered  by providing training alongside the private sector, and by supporting the Jordanian Government to give refugees better access to the labor market.

In addition, the Novo Nordisk Foundation is addressing the health needs of refugees by supporting programs that provide prevention and treatment to address non-communicable diseases in East Africa and other areas affected by humanitarian crises. The Foundation is also funding multiple programs in response to Covid-19, including delivering vaccines to refugees.
